Manière Noire is a collective project of Atelier Oil and Sugar and Cimmerian, based in Montréal. A pretext to create obscure items and accessories for a Noir Lifestyle. Started on the 31st of October 2016 with the goal of designing and producing one enamel pin design per month, accompanied by art prints, original illustrations and other types of items, yet to be announced.
Our name comes from the french term for mezzotint, a printmaking process in which the artist produces an image by burnishing a textured copper plate, creating light areas from a solid black base. Manière also means a way of doing things, which resonated with our vision of a lifestyle brand.
